    Fullscreen perfomance VS. window mode

I am working on the flash application(AS3) and have faced a bizarre issue. While it works in window mode perfectly fine(performance wise) in fullscreen mode it's much much much slower.

My application is basically designed to work in 1024x768 fullscreen mode. When switching to it(on 1024x768 display) it's slow. However when viewing in the window of very same size it is considerably faster.
Application doesn't deal with any sort of complex graphics, however performs quite a lot of calculations and displays few vector object, few bitmaps with applied filter and move them around(it is sort of presentation).

Hence the question. Does latest flash player use DirectDraw to output graphics? Is there any way to make fullscreen mode faster?
