    Lightbox functionality?

    jmccrillis
I'm looking at implementing some variation of the javascript Lightbox functionality. This allows a user to click on a link and have the link brought up in a pop-up window that fades out the web page the user is looking at. Here is the website if you aren't familiar with it: http://www.huddletogether.com/projects/lightbox/ http://www.huddletogether.com/projects/lightbox/">http://www.huddletogether.com/projects/lightbox/

I'm wondering if there is a Flex capability similar to this? I'm also wondering how to get the existing javascript functions to work on an embedded HTML page.

      TIA!

You can use the title window as a popup, the modal property will fade the background also. For that matter you can even directly popup the image using flex.
If you want to display an HTML on the popup, then you will have to make use of some components readily available on net... What they do is to open an iframe and display the html there.. The iframe is placed in such a way that it gives the impression of a popup.

The existing js can be called directly frm flex using the Externalinterface ........

Thanks so much, I will look into this approach further. Are the html components you are referring to something like the flexcapacitor from drumbeatinsight?
