    Component location?

    Level 7
I am trying to invoke a component from a location on my web site outside of
the directory that the page is located.

      My physical folder is: E:\webs\website.com\wwwroot\directory\comdirectory
      which comes up as website.com/directory/comdirectory

I tried a few different variations of dot notation, but cannot get it
      correct.

Anyone know what the proper path is to use?

          My physical folder is: E:\webs\website.com\wwwroot\directory\comdirectory
We now know the directory structure. That's step one. In which directory is the component and in which directory is cfm page that calls it?

            The component is in the

website.com/directory/comdirectory/proj.cfc and the page is located at
            /dashboard/projects/index.cfm

            or

            The component is in the
E:\webs\website.com\wwwroot\directory\comdirectory and the page is located
            at E:\webs\website.com\wwwroot\dashboard\projects

if the CFC is located in a web accessible location then you can use that path to
call it. being web accessible is a requirement for remote calls, otherwise you
can put the CFCs into a cf mapped dir off the web root.

              proj=createObject("component","directory.comDirectory.proj");
