    video in Flash8

I've been experimenting with video quality in Flash 8. I usually have my videos as avi files and then import them in through flash. However i can't seem to get the quality as high as i need. I heard flash can do dvd quality with its videos, but i've been unable to get that high. Does anyone know maybe some settings i should make sure to use or how i could achieve this? I've experimented with compressing my videos and using different settings, also using raw files too, and i've even messed around with flash's settings too. Does it matter when a video is embedded vs external? If anyone could help shed some light on this or point me in the right direction, i would really appreciate it. thanks!
