Good morning,

I am trying to set a custom button (jump button 2) to link to a URL address (HTML_Help layout). The
address is https://sitename. This is not working. However, if I link to http:/sitename
this works. Is it because one link has the "s" at the end of http? If so, is there a way to
get around this?

Let me know if you have any thoughts.

Thanks so much

Hi all

If indeed the Secure protocol is causing an issue, the only way I can think of to bypass it is by using the venerable redirect page. You would create a standard topic in your system and link the button to the standard topic. The standard topic would then redirect to the desired HTTPS page.

The article viewed by clicking this little ole link right here should help with creating the redirect page.

Hi and welcome to the forums.

The s at the end of the protocol refers to a secure site. I just tried to add a jump to a secure site in my CHM and it returns a "page cannot be found" error. Is that what is happening when you say "not working?" I've not heard that there is a restriction on these sites but I'll look into it - or perhaps someone more knowledgable will add to this thread.

John - To answer your question that is exactly what I was getting - a "page cannot be found" error. Thanks again.
