Email registration in Flash and blog update

    Dilroy
      Hi
I'm creating a site that has two things it must contain.
1.) A registration page where the user must enter their email address(which is forwarded to the site owner's email address)
They must enter this to access a certain section of the site.
2.)A blog which can be updated by the site owner whenever they like without having to edit the fla. file.

Any ideas or pointers in the right direction would be much appreciated.

      Cheers

I'm trying to develop a site with your exact same needs.

For your 1st query i would cheat and simply create a folder on your server that has password protection via htaccess for example. Put the site section / content you require in that folder and link to it via your flash site. The browser will ask the user for a username / password and then will take the user to your content. Perhaps not the most elegant of solutions but it's by far the quickest to deploy.

as far as your blog query - i'm using wordpress as my blogging engine (wordpress.org). Then I'm using a flash skin to load it in a swf which I found here - http://www.ssdesigninteractive.com/. Otherwise you could use something like this http://www.flash-db.com/rss/. These will take xml output from most blogging sw and display it in your flash page.

hope that helps in any way
