you have more than one movieclip with the same linkage id.
No I don't.
By the way - to reconfirm this - I really definitly don't have more than one movieclip with the same linkage id. I've gone down that route already. It only caused this error when i started having more than one instance of picker2_mov in another movieclip.
It's reaaaally odd and frustrating.
post a link to your fla and any external files used.
Ok... i've put a link to it on here: http://www.geocities.com/neilonusenet/
I hope that makes some kinda sense.
To describe what's in the fla:
There's a big movieclip (for a scrollpane) called standardsTxtaf_mc which contains instances of other movieclips named ppicker1Liner...2Liner...3Liner etc (different sizes)
Each of these ppickerLiner's has a picker1_mov or a picker2_mov in it. (one's red, one's white)
you converted your movieclip picker2_mov to a button resulting in two objects (the button and the movieclip) with the same linkage id.
Ahh! That sounds right to me. There were a mishmash of buttons and movieclips in this and I did start trying to make them all one type.
