Convert circle (ellipse) to letter "C"

    Level 7
There are no fonts with the letter "C" in the same shape I want. How can I
convert a circle, ellipse, to the shape of "C"? Yes, I am new to FW, but
it's really, really easy in Corel Draw :(

      Thanks
      Hugh

It's really easy in Fireworks as well.

Drag out two vector Ellipse's, one small than the other in the shape and
size you want for your 'C'

With the smaller 'C' on top of the larger one, select them both (hold down
          the shift key)
Go to Modify from the top menu, and select Combine Paths and then Punch.
Then drag out a rectangle or whatever shape you require and place it were
you want the gap in the 'C'
Select the circle and the rectangle and 'punch' again. C :-)

Fantastic Peter. You are a star! Learning the different methods to skin the
same cat between different apps is quite frustrating sometimes ... but your
            method worked flawlessly.

            Cheers

            PS.... great newsgroup.

Great, I'm glad it worked for you, reading it back to myself I
thought it was less than clear but you obviously worked it out :-)

I agree learning new apps when you have one you understand is
difficult. I used to own Micrografx Picture Publisher v8, (in fact I
still do) It was a great programme, but I just wasn't learning FWs
while I had it on my system. I used to run back to it everytime I got
stuck. I only really started to make progress after I took the plunge
and removed it from my system altogether.

Good luck with your future endeavours.

              Peter
