    Help with Dreamweaver MX

    SSERLou
      Hi,
I had a working copy of Dreamweaver MX. When I tried to install it on a second machine.
I got internal error when I tried to link to my FTP site.
Now the program will not link up on either machine.
Support told me that I need a "ftp link permission" which had expired.
Can anyone please assist. I have limited knowledge.

      Thanks

          1. What OS is on the second machine?
          2. What is the exact wording of the error message?
          3. What changes did you make to the first installation of DMX prior to the
          appearance of the error message?
          4. Are these two machines networked together?
          5. Do you have DMX installed on any other machines on this network?
          6. What are the contents of each field in your remote site definition for
          this site?
          7. How many sites do you have defined on each machine?
          8. Do you get this error message when you try to connect to any of these
other sites, too, with either machine?
          9. Which version of DMX are you using? Is it 6.0 or 6.1? (try HELP > About
          Dreamweaver

Those answers will help us help you.

            > I got internal error when I tried to link to my FTP site.

            1. What OS is on the second machine?
            Windows XP

            2. What is the exact wording of the error message?
On the new computer onto which I just downloaded the software
“Cannot make connection to host. Dreamweaver encountered an internal data error. Try again”
On the old computer which was working fine up until this incident
“FTP error cannot make connection to host Login or password incorrect”

            3. What changes did you make to the first installation of DMX prior to the
            appearance of the error message?
            None
            4. Are these two machines networked together? Yes
            5. Do you have DMX installed on any other machines on this network?
Yes It is also giving the same error message as the “old” computer.
            6. What are the contents of each field in your remote site definition for
            this site?

            7. How many sites do you have defined on each machine?
            This is the only one
            8. Do you get this error message when you try to connect to any of these
other sites, too, with either machine? NA
            9. Which version of DMX are you using? Is it 6.0 or 6.1? (try HELP > About
            Dreamweaver 7.0.1 2004

Now please tell us what is in each field of the Remote site definition (you
              can omit the password field).
