    Have no FLash

      Hello,
      i was amazed with AS3 that decided to buy Flash.

      But my only problem is if I buy Flash8 can i learn AS3?
      ANd if flash9 is out do i have to upgrade to flash9 for AS3 because the only reason I want to get flash is because the AS3.

          Careful! AS3 is not available in Flash until the next release.

          Sure. :) You can learn AS3 even if you don't buy Flash. AS3 is a
          language, and the API is available free online.

          If you purchase Flash 8 now, you'll have free access to the Flash
          Professional 9 ActionScript 3.0 Preview release, which is an ALPHA release
          of Flash 9 (basically, just Flash 8 with AS3 publishing capability tacked
          on).

            thnx that helped alot :)

            but i want use my fnished AS3 script, I would have to have flash right?

              To "use" AS3? You mean publish (compile) an ActionScript 3.0-based SWF?
              For that, you would either need the alpha software I mentioned or Flex
              Builder 2.

                Are there any books for AS3?
                And if flash9 is officialy released and i have flash8 would i have to upgrade to flash9 to use AS3

                  I have no idea. Flex Builder 2 is already a commercial release, and it
                  uses AS3 -- so my guess is, yes.
