Please take a look at this site...

    Level 7
I am in the basic design phase of a new site and was speaking with the
customer. He said when he pulls up the site, he has to scroll down to read
the work Patios in the rollover (this will make sense once you see the
page). On my computer, the entire box is visible, on my daughter's
computer, the entire page is visible.

Please take a look and let me know how is lays out on the various screens.
The customer is not particularly computer savvy, so I doubt he changed any
      display settings.

      Thanks

Maybe he has a netbook where the screen size is much smaller than normal
          screens?

By the way, Papyrus as the font family will only work when the user has
that font installed, for some reason I do, but many won't, I would use a
web safe font if I was you.

The font is a funny thing, it was the one the customer pointed out he
liked....now today he said he doesnt like it. I was not a fan in the least
bit of it, and it will probably be changing soon.

              Thanks for the input.

The word "Patios" is ~425px below the top margin of the page. If his
browser viewport is not at least that high, then yes, he will have to scroll
                  down.

That means he'll have to scroll down to read the address as well and use
the links at the bottom of the page.

It's perfectly fine here in my browser and its most likely perfectly
fine in 99% of other peoples browsers.....a normal. web page set up.

I'd tell the client its within a standard format for a page. If he wants
everything in a depth of 200px high let him have it but its going to
look ridiculous to 99% of the user.

Why are there so many dick heads around these days. Quote me if you want
....I wouldn't stand for spew coming from a what sounds like a complete
                    moron.

Tell the **** you want a patio to only be 2 feet deep but need it to
                    cover an area 14ft deep........tosser.

If I set my screen resolution to 800x600 I have to scroll down to see the Patios button. I'd tell your client that they're in the 6% minority of people that have that resolution. Hell, I'd go as far as showing them how to change it over the phone (at least to demo the concept of resolution).

I looked at that, and my screen is set to 720, however the bottom of the
page is at about 550. So I went to full screen, and in that mode all the
math seems to work. So I am thinking that perhaps he as a bunch of tool bars
that are making the view screen smaller.

Easy tex... he was not complaining, we were talking about the design and it
came up that the page was sitting low...

Thank you for your response, but perhaps I'll not quote you on this one.

A pixel is a pixel. The PATIOS will be ~425 pixels below the top margin of
the viewport on a 10,240x7,680px screen just as it will be on an 800x600
screen. If his browser is not maximized on that screen, then it's easy to
imagine that the word would be 'below the fold'. If his browser is
maximized on that screen, then you would have to find >175px of chrome to
account for this. Including tabs and toolbars, my IE7 viewport has ~125px
of chrome at the top. I can't imagine what else would contribute to that
                          dimension....
