premature end of file compiler message in Flex Builder

Quite often, when I save a mxml file and the project builds automatically, the compiler will halt with a "premature end of file" error message.

As an experiment, I've caused this error via a "false modification" (in which I take a perfectly good mxml file, added a space, deleted the space, then saved the file).

In addition, when I compile the application using "Project | Clean", the error goes away every time.

What gives? Anyone else been through this?

P.S. thanks in advance for the "launch the app with -clean" idea (from the similarly listed bug), but I've already tried that.
