    Linking to external audio file

    rowby Level 1
      I have a flash movie that needs to link to 4 separate audio files. All mp3. (I tried including them in the flash file but it took to long for the page to load.)

      Any suggestions on how to do it. I have the linkable text created as buttons. Are button links to an external mp3 file a the way to do it -- and how would I creat that link? Via an action script?

      Thanks

          You can do the following:

          Use the code:
          mySound = new Sound();
          mySound.loadSound("music.mp3",true);

          or import the mp3 in a flash timeline, the use the loadMovieNum function to load the sound into a higher level.

            Thanks Kalen,

            I think I will use your code suggestion:
            Use the code:
            mySound = new Sound();
            mySound.loadSound("music.mp3",true);

            However, if I use loadMovieNum function will that take time to load all of the tracks (4 short mp3 tracks).

            Or is there some special advantage to loadMovieNum function -- not sure what you mean "to a higher level".

            THANKS!
