    Unwanted Transparency[F8]

    takennickname
      Thanks in advance.
      A problem has just started, and I'm not sure what caused it. I have a base movie that loads another into level1, which loads animations into a mc target. These animations were opaque until recently. I've added various code since, changing the _alpha and _visible options of different mc's in different levels, and now my animations are transparent. I've tried so many things and still have not been able to fix this.

      Thanks,
      Kalen

          Could you post the code for both loaders?

            Thanks for replying:

            Here's the code of my base (level0) movie that loads the "clips.swf" movie into level1 that loads the animation swfs into a mc symbol on it's stage at level1. The extra code is apparent, plus I have the site set to an alternate layout.

            level0, frame 1:
            System.security.allowDomain(" http://www.yadayada.fart/");
            loadMovieNum("clips.swf", 1)
            loadMovieNum("dayafter.swf", 3);
            loadMovieNum("links.swf", 4);
            _root.mastheadblack._visible = 0;

            var myDropFilter = new flash.filters.DropShadowFilter();
            var myFilters:Array = _root.fullPanelMC.filters;
            myFilters.push(myDropFilter);
            _root.fullPanelMC.filters = myFilters;
            var myList:Array = _root.fullPanelMC.filters;
            myList[0].quality = 15;
            _root.fullPanelMC.filters = myList;

            From level1 button that loads the animations from inside a mc symbol:
            on (press) {
            loadMovie("cantu.swf", _level1.mcholder);
            _level1.mcholder._alpha=100;
            _level0.fullPanelMC._alpha=25;
            _level1.clips._alpha=25;
            _level1.closerMC._visible=1;
            }

            Thanks again,

              on (press) {
              loadMovie("cantu.swf", _level1.mcholder);
              _level1.mcholder._alpha=100;
              _level0.fullPanelMC._alpha=25;
              _level1.clips._alpha=25;
              _level1.closerMC._visible=1;
              }

              and you're getting different results than the above code would give? (When pressed) if you're loading animations into "clips," then, setting its alpha to 25 will also change the animations inside of it.

              Forgive me if I'm off the mark on your question, I'm somewhat confused.

                Dood,

                You helped me to completely troubleshoot and define my problem. Setting the _alpha of the loaded clip to 25% also made the clips loaded into that level at 25% (duh....). Thanks too much. I see where I need to restructure my app.

                Again, thanks.

                K.
