Is it possible to embed an xml file

    karma-lab
Say you have a component such as a listBox or a menu loading data from an xml file. Typically, these are external resources, and they can be modified without recompiling the flash application.

Say that you wanted to prevent a client from modifying some xml resource - can it be embedded in the .swf somehow? Maybe this is easy, I just am not sure how to go about trying it.

      Thanks!

          no you can't
but you could rename the file to GIF, ADB or whatever you like and load it.
Flash does not care what file extension is as long as the file header (inside that
file) is correct. Perhaps they would never figure it's an xml file.
Else, do not use XML at all, just structure variables and use the variables names
instead of nodes to build the content.
