    Servlet / HTTPService Object Question

    digitalentropy
      I am trying to use Flex to communicate with a servlet. Currently, I am using an HTTPService object to connect to it, like this:

      <mx:HTTPService id="feedRequest"
      url=" http://localhost:8080/HelloWorld/HelloWorld" useProxy="false"/>

      This works great for retrieving the information, but if I want to pass information to the servlet, I have to append it to the end of the URL, like http://localhost:8080/HelloWorld/HelloWorld?var=val. Then, I realized that feedRequest.send() method can take parameters. If I do the following:

      var params:Object = new Object():
      params.var = "hi"
      feedRequest.send(params)

      Is Flex sending the parameters via a different means, or is it just appending them to the end for me?

      Thank you!
