      Is there a way to make text highlighted in yellow like it has been
      highlighted with a yellow marker?

          Sure.

          This is not highlighted <span style="background-color:yellow">this is
          highlighted</span>

          or better yet, make a class in your CSS and use that on a span tag within
          your text.

            Use some css and wrap the tetx you want highligheted in a <span> tag.

            Example

            <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"
            " http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd">
            <html>
            <head>
            <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1">
            <title>Untitled Document</title>
            <style type="text/css">
            .highlight {
            background-color: #FFFF33;
            padding: 2px 4px;
            }
            </style>
            </head>

            <body>
            <table width="500" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0">
            <tr>
            <td>Here is some <span class="highlight">highlighted</span> text</td>
            </tr>
            </table>
            </body>

            </html>

                Ah, gee, I was going to say offer a free yellow marker to everyone
                visiting <LAUGH --- IT"S FRIDAY AFTER ALL!!!!>. Yes, the CSS of course
                is the answer.

                  Is there some way of automating this - ala Frontpage - you can just select the text and highlight it - and it'll put the span in for you, rather than having to go into the code and put the <span class=...> in.

                      I just selected the text and in the properties box select the
                      appropriate style.

                      You could also do it with the do it with a div - select the text -
                      select a wrap around div

                      F1 - help search for - div tag inserting
