    Mouse Over not working

    dsienko
      I've used the same code on several projects for mouse overs, now on this project it's not working. I've tried deleting the tempos to see if that affected, but it didn't. The button still works, its jus that there's now mouse over effect. Any suggestions, a link to the DIR file is bellow.

          Here is the actual script I'm using

          on mouseWithin(me)
          set the member of sprite the currentSpriteNum to member "quitOver"
          end mouseWithin

            You really want to be using on mouseEnter and on mouseLeave to change
            the member of a sprite. mouseWithin is a continuous operation and so it
            eats a lot of processor cycles.

            Are you sure that you have a member named "quitOver" available?

              quitOver is available, both quitOver and quitNomral come up in the editor when I click on them in the cast. The movie is also only 40 frames long, and the button is the only interactive element. There are four tempo pauses of 35 secs and four transistions. I did try using mouseEnter at one point when the problem arose, but swithced back to mouseWithin, since it has always worked for me.

                I get page not found error.

                I'd bet that you have something in the tempo channel over the frame where
                the mouseWithin is used. This would mean that mouseEnter/Leave wouldn't
                work either.

                So you have a "hold on frame" there? Huh? Huh?

                  Removing the tempo "waits" fixed the problem, but I had to lenghten the movie conisderably to get the same affect. Any suggestions on how to hold, keeping the music playing, and still having the button work?

                    This will delay for the number of milliseconds defined in pDelay. In my
                    example, 2.5 seconds. Change that number to change the delay. Add this to
                    any sprite or the frame script. I recommend the frame script if you have
                    nothing else there. If you do and you feel comfortable integrating it in,
                    then do that.

                    property pStartDelay, pDelay

                    on beginSprite me
                    pStartDelay = the milliseconds
                    pDelay = 2500
                    end

                    on exitFrame me
                    if the milliseconds > pStartDely + pDelay then
                    go to the frame
                    end if
                    end
