    dynamic playback for .FLVs

      I had read in another form that changing the speed at which an FLV plays is not possible unless you create keyframes every frame in the FLV. I hope this is not the case. I'm wondering if anyone else has found a solution to this problem. Possibly by changing the FPS? or creating some way of using cue points to play back at different speeds? Let me know, thanks.

          You can't change the FPS of an FLV dynamically. What I've done to fake it..and gotten decent results...is put the FLV in a movieclip on the stage and stop that movie clip. Then I use setInterval with a dynamic interval to call a function which tells the MC to go to the next frame. When you want to change the apparent framerate of the FLV, you clear the interval and reset it with a new interval variable. Here's the setInterval call:

          fpsSet = setInterval(playNextFrame,1000/myFPS,myVid);

          Hope that helps!

            Sounds like an interesting solution! I will have to try playing with that soon! Thanks for the idea! I'll let you know how it turns out
