Is the allowMultipleSelection property set to true?
Yes, but that requires the user to then click all the items from the interface to select all the items. What I would like to do is have a button that says 'select all items' from the interface to set all of the dg grid items to selected.
I see, how are you trying to select them all? are you using the selectedItems property???
<mx:Button label="Select All" click="dataGrid.selectedItems = dataGrid.dataProvider.toArray()"/>
That worked great. Thanks for the help. I am wondering where you found this? I checked all the devel docs and Adobe Flex 2 Language Reference and found nothing?
Yeah, the Flex docs are pretty good, but theys are not so good for finding out how to do a specific thing.
For example, if you look at the doc for selectedItems, it says [read-write] and "An array of references to the selected items in the data provider" That says why this works, but it requres too much analysis to figure out a simple task.
Adobe is working on the documentation.
Here's the complete reference guide:
Here you can find everything about every class on Flex, properties, methods, etc
