    Weird symbols

I have made a guestbook in flash that when someone write their name and comment, and press submit, the text get exported to a php-page that again put it in a mysql database. It works ok. But the problems is that when someone use foreign letters (like "å"), the resulting letter ends in "Ã¥"

I have NO idea how to fix this. Does anyone know?

probably it has to do with the char set. wich one is defined in the DB?
did you embed it in the Flash movie?

The thing about charset in the DB is a new topic for me (and tell me off as a bit of beginner :)
I went into the DB, and it says there that column charset is set as latin1, vith column collate set on latin1_danish_ci.
This is a norwegian site, where both english and norwegian comments is made. What should I set it to?
