Maybe I should simplify this question. I have an Oracle database that contains data that I want to be able to select, insert, update and delete via a Flex 2 interface. I understand that Flex can not directly access or manipulate data so what I need to know is how do i make the connection between the Flex front end and the oracle database to be able to manipulate the data.
FDS deployment on Oracle 10gAS (10.1.3) is supported.
Connecting to the DB via FDMS assemblers is demonstrated in the CRM and FlexCab Samples of FDS. The samples connect to the embedded HSQL database. Replacing this to connect to the Oracle DB should work for you. The samples also include an example of connecting to the DB via Hibernate.
Thanks for the reply.
Do you know where in the FDS download are the details for the samples/examples you have mentioned? I have installed FDS but not sure where they are located.
Also I presume that there are some configurations steps that are required to the Apache J2EE component of Oracle 10g Application Server. I am a bit of a newbie so not sure what is required here either. Would you happen to know of any documentation online for this?
I have downloaded and installed LiveCycle Data Services ES 2.5.1. I have Oracle 10gAS (18.104.22.168.0) installed (is this version of Oracle AS supported?).
I presume this version is not supported as I have been unable to find the oc4j.cmd file under the bin directory of the AS installation.
Do i need to use Oracle 10gAS to be able to connect to an Oracle database or use oc4j?
