Hi, I have noticed that the Related Topics Design-Time Control (button) does not show up in some Windows NT2000 systems. Instead a small box with a "X" in it is shown. To me this usual means that an image is missing. Anybody run into this before?
Thanks.

Hi,

Yes, this is a known problem, alternately caused by and cured by installing Service Pack 4 for Windows 2000. See this thread for a discussion of the issues and various workarounds.

Essentially, the problem is caused by installing one or more security updates for Internet Explorer, which break the registry entries for the HTML Help ActiveX control (hhctrl.ocx) -- the component that is responsible for design-time controls like Related Topics links.

Thanks for your help Pete. I will install the latest security patch. That looks like the issue.

Just an update on this issue. We installed the latest security patches for Explorer v5.5 but they failed to correct the problem. We then upgraded to v6.0 and the problem was resolved.
