    purpose of forums

    Mister Peanut Level 1
Just got a message telling me that the forum is only for discussion of adobe products. From what I've seen, all I have ever seen are messages about support. This has been a fantastic forum for those looking for sources and a little code here and there. Any opinions? I will stop asking for advice if this is not what it is for...

Thanks to all that have helped me so far.

I think you misinterpreted that mnessage - btw...how did the message get to you? Who sent it? Yes -
we discuss adobe products here - specifically flash - discuss means talk about, ask questions,
etc...which is what has been done for years - nothing has changed :)

This is the note I got...

Important Note: These online forums are for user-to-user discussions of Adobe products, and are not an official customer support channel for Adobe. If you require direct assistance, or prefer to contact Adobe support staff directly, please contact Adobe support.

I don't think I was asking for customer support, and upon further reading, I guess it doesn't restrict what you ask about. But why send the message in the first place? I don't get it...

all that is saying is that these are peer-to-peer forums - not official adobe support - so if you
have a valid issue with your purchased/licensed software, then you have the option of using the
official adobe support or here, which is just users like yourselves - official support doesn't use
volunteer-based forums. All that is is a disclaimer.

I see. Guess this message was sent to everyone, then...

                Cheers.

maybe. I'm a little spacey most of the time.
