You are probably uploading a file from a network drive. There is this bug that throws an IO error when you do that. Try uploading from you logical drives instead.
Unfortunately, that is not it. Any other ideas?
After looking at the Raw logs on my server I saw that the upload request was being rejected (403 error). Now I just need to figure out why.
Well, if anyone else is interested I figured out what the problems were:
1. 403 Error because of servers security settings. This was fixed by changing the security settings.
2. 404 error because my relative path was not finding the script. Fixed this by using an absolute path.
3. 500 error because the server could not find the template associated with my method (I am running Ruby on Rails). Note that at this point the upload was succeeding, even though I was still getting an I/O error.
Fixed this last problem by adding render(:xml => "</success>") to the end of my upload method.
Now everything is happy. The server sends back 200 and I no longer get the I/O error.
This bug has kept me bussy for a couple of hours.
Via my IIS log i found this 500 error.
I my case i was trying to reach the (developer) server with more then 2 different IP addresses.
A simple cfm file will return a nice error, but the swf will not.
I too am getting the 2038 File I/O error.
I am having trouble tracking doesn the source of the error.
Can anyone point me to how to get to the generated raw error logs so I can review the HTTP error codes?
I am running XP personal Web server, IIS 5.1
This is slowly driving me nuts.
Can you elaborate on what you did when you changed the security settings -> This was fixed by changing the security settings.
I think too that my problem has something to do with security settings but I do not know for sure. I only know that my server side script is never reached when trying to upload from a MAC platform. I'm using a webhotel so I'm pretty limited in changing the settings.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Have a look at my case:
