    Optimising An Image

I've used Fireworks to create the masthead for my web page

      http://www.ja.net/temp/mark4-testbox2.html

This is made out of a gradiented rectangle, on top of which I pasted the project logo, but if you notice, the logo has loads of white specks.

Originally the logo was based upon a white background. My boss edited it in Illustrator so that it was based upon a transparent background, and I then pasted it onto the rectangle in Fireworks.

The solution I can think of to remove the white flecks is to zoom in and use the rubber tool, but this will take ages. Is there a better / quicker way of doing this?

Thanks very much for any help
