so why did you start using <param name=value> and so on? Note also that you
missed out an awful lot of the double-quotes.
actually, the initial file was written out by director.. i am not sure why the format changed..
is it correct that the second set of data is what dictates to IE how to display the movie?

IE uses <object> and everything else uses <embed>.
