have you tried using to Dreamweaver to put it in?
Thanks dzedward foryour response, but I think what you are suggesting is to simply use dreamweaver to embed it, but I want to be able to ambed within my flash peice (but yes it does work in dreamweaver).
Thanks NSurveyor, that was one of the avenues I had experimented with but to no success, although you would think it would work.
Another eg... using the same prinicples to manipulate the url,
if you go to url...
You wil get a swf video in the myspace video player. Therefore I know all the variables and url are correct. However when you then put it into my flash..
<img src=' http://lads.myspace.com/videos/vplayer.swf?m=1162904024&type=video&cp=1'>
the myspace video player for the swf is inserted into my flash, but the video does not play?
Any other ideas. Thanks Jonnie.
Flash does not support (at least as far as I know) the addition of variable to the SRC string from within Flash. Your best bet would be to add an ID attribute to the <IMG> tag so that you can reference the loaded SWF through ActionScript. You should be able to reference the variables in the loaded SWF inside the TextField like this:
textfield: the instance name of your textfield
id : the value of the ID attribute in the <IMG> tag
variableName: the name of the variable in the SWF (as long as it is on the main timeline)
