          Hi,
          does any one have a solution to this error.
          I had worked on this website and it was working well all of a sudden on making some changes I get this error on my thumbnail page.

          Error converting image (thumbnail). Image processing library not available or does not support operation. (gd library is not working or not found).

          Thanks

            Hi Yomi, <br /> <br />------ <br />Error converting image (thumbnail). Image processing library not available or does not support operation. (gd library is not working or not found) <br />------ <br /> <br />please ask your site host if the GD library is indeed not working or hasn´t been enabled. <br /> <br />If you want to find it out yourself, you can also upload a blank PHP page (say "info.php") on the server, which just contains: <br /> <br /><? phpinfo(); ?> <br /> <br />...on line 1. Launching this page in a browser will display your website´s current php.ini settings, and you should - among others - see some information on the GD library there, in case it´s installed <br /> <br />Cheers, <br />Günter Schenk <br />Adobe Community Expert, Dreamweaver

              Thanks Gunter,

              I checked my phpinfo this was what I got as per gd
              cscript /nologo configure.js "--enable-snapshot-build" "--with-gd=shared"

              The site was working locally before but all of a sudden it no longer worked both locally and online. Could it be I deleted the gd library on the local server too?
              any way, I just upgraded to wamp 5.

              The other error I get when I want to upload
              Developer Details:
              tNG_multipleUpdate error.
              An error occurred while updating the records. (MUPD_ERROR)
              Image upload error. Error resizing image: Error converting image (image resize). Image processing library not available or does not support operation. (gd library is not working or not found). (IMG_RESIZE)

              Could it be that the gd library on the two different platforms are not working while it worked before?

              I tried to see if the problem was in the includes/common/lib folder but I am not just sure of how it was supposed to be.
              I foud this in the kt_image_class.php
              }
              $this->arrCommands = array(
              "C:\\PROGRA~1\\IMAGEM~1\\",
              '/usr/bin/',
              '/usr/bin/X11/',
              '/usr/X11R6/bin/'
              );
              $this->orderLib = array('imagemagick','gd');
              $this->gdNoSupport = '';
              $this->imageMagickPath = '';
              $this->getVersionGd();
              }
              could it be an issue?

              I did like if you can still help me arrive at a solution
              I appreciate U

              Yomi

                Hi Yomi,

                -----
                I checked my phpinfo
                -----

                when scrolling that page down, do you see some more information, e.g. a whole section "gd" and some related info like "GD Support : enabled" ?

                If you don´t see that "gd" section at all, there´s certainly something wrong

                Cheers,

                  Hi Gunter
                  Thanks a lot,
                  I tried it on my local server
                  I did not find a whole section 'gd'. I did not see any other gd apart from the line I pasted above. How do I go about re-installing the gd library?
                  It could be that my server upgrade caused it.

                  Secondly, I discovered the gd is on my online host platform, I just discovered the upload error is different
                  It is indicating NO Write Permission

                  Error:
                  An error occurred while inserting the records.
                  File upload error: File upload error. Internal error.
                  Developer Details:
                  tNG_multipleInsert error.
                  An error occurred while inserting the records. (MINS_ERROR)
                  File upload error: File Upload Error. No write permissions in "../../images1/" folder. (FILE_UPLOAD_ERROR)

                  What is the likely problem here?
                  Thanks a Lot

                    Hi Yomi,

                    -------
                    I did not see any other gd apart from the line I pasted above. How do I go about re-installing the gd library?
                    -------

                    Now that you did a server upgrade, it may well be that the GD library just needs to be activated in the php.ini file. In here you should find the line:

                    ;extension=php_gd2.dll

                    ...and if it has a semicolon at the very start, GD is currently deactivated, means you´ll need to remove the semicolon, save the file and restart the server.

                    --------
                    No write permissions in "../../images1/" folder...What is the likely problem here?
                    --------

                    well, it´s most assumingly the current write permission of the "images1" folder which currently prevents file uploads in here. Please connect to the remote server with DW and follow the instructions mentioned on the attached image.

                    Cheers,
                    Günter Schenk

                      I got it resolved locally. I really appreciate you.
                      ADDT is real cool ;)

                      For my online host. I could not update the permission. I got the message below. what will you recomend I do?
                      setting access properties failed for httpdocs/images

                      Thanks once again.

                            Just to report, within this thread, that the same error is generated if you try to put a full web address into the destination folder in the "Upload and Resize Image" floating palate. I was trying to create an admin section that would be hosted locally but update files on a remote web server. Even with priviledges set to 777 on the images folder on the remote server, the error:

                            ADDT tNG_multipleInsert error.

                            An error occurred while inserting the records. (MINS_ERROR)

                            File upload error: File Upload Error. No write permissions in "http://www.designstage.co.uk/images/"

                            appeared, and the trace gave a similar message as in Yomi's originial message. Just to check, I uploaded the admin page to the remote server and tried again with the full web address and got the same error. When I changed the upload folder destination for the image to a relative path (in my case "../images/") everything worked happily.

                            I'm adding to this thread in case anyone searches for the same problem.
