I don't think it's a matter of "liking" one or the other. Rather, it's a matter of which end use you have for your image(s): if you're aiming for North-American SWOP-like conditions, convert to U.S. Web Coated (SWOP) v2 (or SWOP2006_Coated3v2); if your printing is done in Europe, then Europe ISO Coated FOGRA27 would be more appropriate.
The 2 are not interchangeable, and choosing one over the other is not just a matter of personal preference.
And, yes, they produce very visibly different results from one another.
