are these swfs loaded into the browser via getURL() using the html page of the swf to load the swf?
and what are you trying to accomplish that requires such an apparently convoluted approach?
The swf file is part of a Dotnetnuke skin and there is only the option of having a single header swf, but the client would like the text within to alter depending on the page the visitor is viewing. I am trying to avoid complicated server based options that involve scripting beyond my experience, but from your reply I assume I am heading down another programmers alley?
how is the header swf related to the html pages? is it in an iframe?
I believe the pages are generated dynamically and although I have been able to add a query to a demo flash file and to demo html pages individually ( http://www.faceon.co.uk/demo/scene1.htm), I have no control over the dynamic html. The site builder says that he thinks he can change the 'query string parameter', which later I will look into but would appreciate any light you can throw on this if it makes sense to you?!?!
if you've got 12 seperate html pages, pass a variable to the flash movie in the html page where you embed it...like this
<param name="movie" value="mymastermovie.swf?myscenenumber=2" />
ijn this example it will pass the variable "myscenenumber" to flash with a value of 2...
then in the first frame of your flashmovie bung a switch and case statement taking you to the correct scene...like this
ask the site builder how your flash is used with his html. is it in an iframe? is it in a table? something else? is the flash html page used or just the flash swf?
