    Signature Validate Alert

      I have a document that is obviously signed with a certificate. I can manually right mouse it and validate the signature, but can't seem to get to it programmatically. what I need is to have it automatically check upon open.

      this is what i have, but it doesn't work. I was wondering if there is a global check... something that i'm missing.

      security.validateSignaturesOnOpen = true;
      var sigStatus = true;
      if (this.getField("namehere").signatureValidate() != 4) sigStatus = false; <--PROBLEM HERE
      if (sigStatus == true)
      app.alert(""Document has been tampered with"", 3);

          Failing to validate a signature doesn't mean it has been tampered
          with. It means that the document has been changed since it was signed.
          Not entirely sure what you are trying to do. It would be very bad to
          train a group of users to watch out for a warning like this. For a
          signature workflow to work, the users must be trained to look for the
          signature and validate it themselves. Otherwise they will be suckers
          for a fake document.
