Something like this sets the kerning between the first and second characters in every text frame in the active document to 20.
myTextframes = app.activeDocument.textFrames.everyItem().getElements();
for (i = 0; i < myTextframes.length; i++)
myTextframes[i].insertionPoints.kerningValue = 20;
It doesn't check or catch any errors.
is it possible to limit this action only to texts with a specific paragraph style applied? I ask you this couse I've also got a series of other text frames which doesn't require this modification.
Why not build the kerning into the drop-cap character style (you'd have to use tracking but when applied like this it has the same effect) called up by the paragraph style? Then you don't need a script.

Thank you Dave and Peter,
unfortunately, using tracking instead of kerning, I obtain an increasing of space on both sides of the drop-cap character, while I want it only on the right side - Anyhow, thanks for the suggestions.
