The JavaScript would have to be running in a different CS3 application, then it could issue an execute command to the file holding the InDesign application.

But generally, it's the other way around. JavaScripts run within InDesign so it has to be running in order for a script to run.

Is it possible through VB or some other process to launch InDesign.

              Hi Nagavij,

re: "Is it possible through VB or some other process to launch InDesign.[?]"

Of course. Just use VBScript. Generally, just creating an instance of the InDesign application object will launch InDesign if it is not already running.

              Set myInDesign = CreateObject("InDesign.Application")

You can also use a shell command:

              Set myWshShell = WScript.CreateObject("WScript.Shell")

              myWshShell.Run "path_to_indesign"

...where "path_to_indesign" is the file path to your copy of InDesign.

              Thanks,

              Ole
