Just as in the user interface, "Hyphenation" is a paragraph setting. Nothing you can do about it.
>only a few words per paragraph should hyphenate.
How do you decide which word(s) to hyphenate? You are not trying to write a Paragraph Composer in JS, are you? Perhaps you should just play a bit more with Hyphenation Settings and Justification Settings; you can bend the rules enough to get as least hyphens as possible.
i've a regular expression for matching the words i need... there ara about 12.000 paragraphs with plant descriptions and only the german words should be hyphenated (because most of them are pretty long).
i was searching for a solution not looking at all those paragraphs and check if they look better hyphenated :-(
thanks for the quick reply,
german words should be hyphenated.
I am used to work with german although I don't speak it myself. But each time I tried to hyphen words, I was told to let them in one piece.
So It's not helping but are you sure to can hyphen (I mean you have the right to do this)?
You could apply language "[No language]" to those words which shouldn't be hyphenated.
Or you could apply language "[No language]" to the paragraph style and apply your language to the words you wish to be hyphenated.
@loic_aigon: i have to hyphenate :-!
@martin: thanks for the hint. this is working now... :-)
An excellent workaround! Tip-o'-the-hat to Martin for thinking sideways.
