Does anyone know of a script that lets you add a character style to a single tab within a text box?
The problem is that I work on a lot of Annual Reports which are very number heavy, these are set up using tabs in a text box. Usually one column of figures have to be in bold while all the other column are regular, so there is a lot of manual labour involved changing all the figures in one column to be bold.
In Quark there was an extension called 'Text Grabber' which allowed you to easy change a vertical column of copy with out having to highlight each individual number. Using tables isn't an option due to the nature of the way we work with client and set-up our reports.
You don't need a script for this. The feature you need is called nested styles. Nested styles can be setup to apply character styles to text within paragraphs. The nested styles are defined as part of the paragraph style.
