Yeah, maybe you are doing somthing "bad" in the extended component.
Create an extended panel with no significant changes. Does that exhibit the issue?
Nothing fancy here. Just a Application with one Panel inline, and another created from mxml component (extends Panel). Both have paddingLeft=20. When I run this I get 2 Panels (top and bottom). The Text in the top panel displays correctly with left padding, the Text in the bottom Panel has no padding.
I'm curious if anyone else can duplicate this padding problem on a Panel. Maybe my assumptions of how this is supposed to work are wrong, but it seems to inconsistent behavior at best.
