1. Re: Word 2007 save as adobe pdf bug?
John T Smith Feb 10, 2009 3:35 PM (in response to lister_uk)If you are missing the PDF option in MS Office 2007, you may
download a plug-in from MS to create a PDF without Acrobat, go
to the MS article search page and do a search, or go to the MS
Office update page and search for the file to download
Search http://search.microsoft.com/search.aspx?mkt=en-US&setlang=en-US
Office http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/downloads/default.aspx
General Acrobat Problem Steps
If you are having problems creating a PDF, there are two steps you should do FIRST Go to the appropriate vendor web site and apply all updates to the program you are using (several recent messages have concerned problems with MS Office conversion, with the response that different versions of Office have different BUGS that must be fixed by a download from Microsoft - and MS Office products are not the only ones which may, from time to time, need to be updated to work properly)
Also install Acrobat updates - IN ORDER

2. Re: Word 2007 save as adobe pdf bug?
Bill@VT Feb 11, 2009 10:44 AM (in response to lister_uk)If you are using the save, you are using the WORD conversion to PDF, not Acrobat. To get a PDF using Acrobat, you must either use PDF Maker (the create PDF button) or print to the Adobe PDF printer.
If indeed you are using the save format, then it is a MS issue. -
3. Re: Word 2007 save as adobe pdf bug?
lister_uk Feb 12, 2009 4:45 PM (in response to lister_uk)No, in the 'save as' dialogue it lists it as 'adobe PDF' - or the 'Adobe PDFmaker Office Com Addin'.
I haven't installed the MS pdf maker.
Acrobat is fully updated (using Adobe Updater).
MS Office (and Word) is fully updated also. -
4. Re: Word 2007 save as adobe pdf bug?
Bill@VT Feb 13, 2009 4:30 AM (in response to lister_uk)I will have to check later on my machine that has this configuration. If WORD is providing that feature, it is new to me. In the meantime, why not try the create PDF button, the Adobe menu item for create PDF, or simply print to the Adobe PDF printer. In fact the last is probably the best starting point. See if those work since they are definitely the Acrobat printer setups. If they all work, then I would start suspecting WORD. If they do not work, then we have things to look at. Be sure to try the printer first since all other Acrobat printing features depend on this one working.
