Index shows main body text out side of template

    gregornot2
      Steps to reproduce:
      1) This is my old index: http://shundahai.info/index.html
      2) This is my new index: http://shundahai.info/index2.html

What went wrong? All main body text is a separate column next to the index
      (outside of index)

I know that it is just a simple error, but I can not find it. Index2.html appears good when view within Dreamweaver (view with browser with IE is Good, but in Firefox looks with main body text, out side of index.) Index2.html in both real time browsers has main body text, out side of index in it's own column. I am totally confused. Pleas be kind and help.

I admit I stopped coding for awhile when I was in hospitable for 6 months with Back Surgery and recovery. But I never had this problem for all the years, that I did successful using Dreamweaver 3 and all versions including DW8.
I know it just a small code error, but I can't find it, so after a week- I am humbling asking the forum, for help.

The first page is a template child page. The second page is a Template that
has been saved with an html extension. That will never work, and while it's
not the reason for your layout issue, it's going to be a problem for you.

Looking at your code, you have oodles of broken links. That makes me worry
about whether your site definition is correct. It also appears that you are
saving files inside your Templates folder. There should never be anything
other than the template files themselves in the Templates folder.

Thank you for the help. I will be able to fix it now. The broken links were due to me not up loading, the rest of the site, as I wanted to fix index.html first. I will be able to get it straight now. Thanks again-gregor

just want to make sure you understand that index2.html is NOT a child page
of a template. If you update the template, it will have no effect on that
              page.

I'm guessing that there is a .dwt template file in the Templates folder,
that you opened it and did a "SAVE AS" to get a copy of it.

The correct way to get a new child page based off a template is:
              dw menu-->File-->New
              click the Templates tab.
Click this site in left column, the desired template in right column.
Make sure there is a checkmark in "update this page"
              click okay.

now, save the file within the Local site folder with the desired filename.
