After another quick look at the bug above, I noticed it's status is closed? If the bug is closed, but still present, does this mean it's simply not going to be fixed?
It was closed because it is considered an AIR bug.
This problem is known and is documented as:
If you navigate to that page, then go to “Scripting the HTML Container”, then “Considerations when loading SWF or PDF content in an HTML page”, you’ll find this line on the page - Note: The runtime cannot display SWF or PDF content in transparent windows.
This is AsDesigned and is not going to change in next release.
That is the most unexpectedly dissapointing and surprising thing I have ever heard come from Adobe.
I realise this may just be niggling at the semantics of "AsDesigned", but I simply do not beleive this is an intentional feature rather than a bug.
To clarify: We'd like to address this issue. But that isn't easy and, as Ted says, it isn't addressed in the next release.
Thanks, that makes things a little more clear and at least gives hope for a solution in the future.
