PDF Password protection showing on non-password protected documents

I have been trying in vain to upload a large PDF file to Lulu.com. I have password protection turned off in Distiller. However, Lulu keeps rejecting the file as being password protected. What do I need to do?

I'm using Acrobat 5

Open the file in Acrobat and check the document security (File >
Security, File > Properties, something like that).

It must show "no security".
