>I cannot get the images off the camera onto a file.
I presume you're on PC (since you don't bother to give that rather critical bit of info). On Windows you'll have to set your camera to be a mass storage device in order to even see the raw files. Best bet is use a card reader as you really shouldn't be trying to transfer image files directly from the camera. It's really slow and as you've found out, it's not "easy" like a card reader.
Thanks for your help but whats a card reader? As you can tell I am a novice at this. Could open raw files direct from my camera on my computer using cs2 with vista after fiddling with downloads. The problem is my motherboard has gone and so am trying to open them on windows xp with the new cs4. Hope you can help with my lack of knowledge about software and how raw works!
A card reader generally plugs into a USB port on a pc and appears as a disk drive to the system, allowing one to easily transfer files to the pc.
Sandisk Extreme is my favorite,
Thank you for all your help but out of stock at moment - i'll have to wait and see if it works later!
They are available elsewhere, although I notice there are several out-of-stock messages. Could be they are being discontinued, there are several other good products, I just happen to be partial to this one.
In any event, you can still obtain thru Amazon:
Thank you ordered from amazon.com. Will let you know how it goes once i have received it.
