" How do you change the defaults? "
You don't...they are sticky by use (or unless you've already set them for an image).
Thanks, Jeff. This seems like a huge step backwards. I need to remember to change every image from 8-bit to 16, from aRGB to ProPhoto, and from 240 ppi to 300 ppi? Why isn't there a means to change the default? Aye... At least now I know.
Try again. The stickyness logic has not changed.
They are sticky for me. I opened one image, changed it to profoto, 16 bit, 300 dpi. Then opened another and it retained those values. Changed them to Adobe RGB, 8 bit, 240. Opened another image and it took on the new values. This is on a Windows machine.
OK, this is starting to feel wierd.
I know that I had to manually change at least 10 images last night, before I made the OP. I then seleced all images in a folder within Bridge, opened all into ACR and and was going to change the output parameters, with the assumption that they were "sticky by file." From the location of the element in the UI, it seemed that the values should *not* be "sticky by file" (and I'm glad they're not!). I made the change anyway and resumed editing. Fine.
Well, the parameters now stick to the last setting. I just d'loaded a folder of images that had been untouched by Bridge, and everything works as it is supposed to again. I have no idea what changed the behavior. I had gone so far last night as to look up the behavior in the printed docs to see if there was a way to set defaults. Like the RGB "---" error, this one has vaporized. It seems like there's something special about the first run of ACR...
Thanks for the quick responses.
