      Hi

      just discovered the forum and have a couple of queries please.

      If I open a raw file via bridge and then crop it I seem unable to move on
      from there. Normally if I double click it then creates a new image using the
      cropped section. Does camera raw not do this?

      Second Can I start camera raw from within photoshop? it's shown as an addin
      but I seem unable to get it to open my raw files unless I use bridge

      thanks

      Ian

            Ian,

            All edits in ACR are nondestructive. You will always be able to see the entire image in ACR, including the part that you have cropped away. It is that way by design so that if, at a later time, you want to crop your image differently. When you return to Bridge the thumbnail should reflect the cropped image.

            Regarding your second question. Refer to your Bridge preferences. There is an option there to have ACR hosted by Bridge. Many people prefer this configuration. If you don't like it, make sure to remove the check mark from that option. But you can always open a raw file from Photoshop using the File/Open menu option.

              Hi Thanks for that, I now see the logic that camera raw opens raw files
              using the file open option

              cheers
