And why would you like it to run directly, what is your benefit with that way of working?
I came here looking for the same answer.
I catalog my images using Imatch. Now that ACR allows color-temperature adjustments from jpegs I'd like to call ACR from Imatch.
>call ACR from Imatch.
Can't do that. :/
Ah well. Thanks.
The best I can do is use Imatch to open the selected image in Bridge.
That points Bridge to that folder, with the jpeg selected. Then I can open it in Camera Raw. So at least I don't have to select it again. And that doesn't work for multiple images in the same folder, but that's no big deal. (It does open a new bridge for each folder!)
Of course, I don't usually use bridge, so it may spend half an hour building its thumbnails.
And you can't reimport a PSD into ACR --- I wonder if they'll ever incorporate the color temperature slider into Photoshop.
Yeah, yeah .. I know I should shoot in raw, but that puts too big a load on my workflow.
>And you can't reimport a PSD into ACR
No, but you can save a PSD as TIFF, which can be opened and processed by ACR 4.2. It can also open an process JPEGs.

Tried it again and it DID open an uncompressed TIF without layers.
