You might start with telling on what system you are and which version of Photoshop you have.
Depending on you RAW files (what camera are you using) you need the ACR (Adobe Camera RAW) plug in for converting RAW files.
PSCS3 uses the latest ACR 4.3.1 PSCS2 is using 3.7 as latest. If your camera is not supported you can always convert to DNG.
It as always the best way to use a card reader for copying the RAW files to your computer. Using Photo Downloader or manually drag and drop to get the files on the computer.
There is a lot to learn about RAW, a very good book is Real World Camera RAW by Jeff Schewe and Bruce Fraser.
Where are the image files located? What is your PS platform (e.g., Macintosh)? Someone might have your specific camera - what is it? Which version of PS, Bridge & Camera Raw are you using? Have you been able to get the image files as far as opening them with the PS Camera Raw software plugin?
I have s similar problem. Sony Alpha 100. Tried shooting in Jpeg, Jpeg+RAW and just RAW on ScanDisk IV cards.
Plug card into 'puter (Win XP Pro) card slot. Lightroom boots up auto. Click capture imagies from camera (camera not attached) and LR will only show and download the Jpeg files that are on the Scandisk. If I shoot just RAW or RAW+Jpeg, lightroom tells me there are no files to download. I have CS2 and have downloaded all available updates for both.
Where's the problem?
Thanks in aticipation!
If you use Windows Explorer to download your raw images, will Lightroom recognize the files?
Yes. My only way at the moment to put RAW into LR is to first put them into 'My Pics' then load imagies into LR from disc. ('Puter Hard drive.)
If I try to import into CS2, Cs2 says the files are the wrong format. Strange that LR will accept from disc but not CS2.
Actually, that isn't strange at all. Photoshop CS2 will only support up to ACR 3.7. Lightroom operates under the ACR 4 engine. And so far there have been four updates to ACR 4. Each of those updates added support for additional cameras.
Am I wasting my time attempting to find the solution, which must be out there somewhere, as to why LR won't recognise RAW files from a Scandisk?
