Where exactly did you install ACR?
Why do you need to keep CS?
A lot of users prefer to print from CS (Photoshop 8 ) because for many users printing is broken in CS2 and in CS3.
I have Photoshop 7.0.1, 8, 9.0.2 and 10.0.1 installed on my Mac without any problems whatsoever. The ACR plug-in is installed in the appropriate location for each version of Photoshop.
To launch multiple versions of Photoshop, simply launch the older version first.
But, and this is a very big but, this may not work in Windows. I don't know.
ACR is installed in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\CS3\File Formats.
I teach and help others who have various versions of Photoshop installed.
OK. no other version of ACR 4.X anywhere?

That's valid for CS3 only.
The path in CS was radically different.
No other versions are anywhere on the system (except in the downloaded .ZIP files, and I think I've deleted all those). Of course ACR 4.3.1 is installed in the mentioned directory (but not at the same time as testing versions 4.4.x and above).
Before upgrading to Photoshop 10.0.1 I had to use CS to print image files from CS3 (and only after saving as .TIF files). The upgrade resolved the CS3 printing problem.
Sorry, I'm thoroughly confused now.
Hello, I just saw this thread and have a similar problem. I get a black thumbnail for history, especially when I convert to Lab Mode. Can anyone provide assistance? I am using CS3 exetened on Windows XP. Assistance would be greatly appreciated.
