Do you see the dashes instead of values only when hovering outside the preview area, or also when hovering inside the preview itself?
When I click on the eye-dropper tool and hover over anywhere in the image the RG&B channel reading flash on.. but when I stop over any area all three show 3 dashes in place of numerical values...
One more clarification, please: by "eyedropper tool" do you mean the Sampling Tool or the White Balance Tool in ACR?
Either way, what you describe does not sound normal. Since you're running Leopard, I'd be hesitant to recommend routine maintenance, as I have no way of knowing whether this is another Leopard bug or not. I hope Leopard users chime in.
It's the white balance tool....
Thanks for helping me look into this Ramon.... I'm not really expert with CS3. I had heard that there were some problems with Leopard and CS3... I was just wondering if it might be something I am doing wrong.
Try opening Camera Raw hosted by Photoshop instead of Bridge...do the samplers show a read out? I think it's an issue with video drivers that make the sampler tool flicker when hosted under Bridge...
I experience the same RGB value flickering in ACR, using Mac OS Tiger on a MacPro w/5GB of RAM and the NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT video card. The only solution I've found is to quit Bridge and re-open it and sometimes have to do this repeatedly. I'm still puzzled about why this happens.
Try launching Bridge first, and don't attempt to launch Photoshop until Bridge has fully finished launching.
It was a known bug in Bridge 1.x, triggered by setting Bridge to launch automatically right after Photoshop, and I personally have not seen it in 2.x, but it wouldn't hurt to try.
