DW 8 Preview in Browser w/ASP Testing Server?

    jenniboop
In Dreamweaver 8, I have a site that uses ASP. I could preview the site in previous versions without setting up a testing server. I upgraded, to DW8 and now it requires a testing server set up. I set this up with my ftp account, and I could preview, but it also uploaded the files. I also wasnt planning on setting this up with FTP, I wanted to use a web server set up on my local network. I also, feel that I dont see the difference between the remote server and the testing server? I simply want to preview my pages locally, then upload them. Any help would be appreciated.
      Thanks so much!

Your website folder should be in wwwroot folder on your local machine and please define the testing server in the dreamweaver site definition. Please check the connection at that time as well using Test URL.
Define the remote server settings the way its convenient for you and hopefully this should work

If your pages contained VBScript, it would be impossible to preview without
having a testing server. If they were simple static HTML pages with an ASP
extension, then you'd be OK, although you'd probably have to click through a
            warning each time.

Do you have your site defined as "Site" or as "FTP & RDS Server" - if the
latter, then you are editing files directly on the server without a local
site. If the former, then you must have enabled the automatic PUT on save.

When you look at your site name in the list/menu on the Files panel, do you
see "ftp:" in front of it?
