If you see this, is that the build for Mac users too? I just downloaded and the version is listed as 1.0.464. Might this be why I'm having screen redraw problems? I posted additional info in the thread "unable to download DE update." Thanks for any help or advice you can provide.
Sorry, should have clarified. The bug was WIndows-only, so we did not update the Mac. Thanks.
Just curious - I thought ADE updated itself automatically but my version (windows) is still showing 464 and your instruction to remove from control panel and reinstall suggests otherwise.
Do you intend future upgrades to be automatic?
Yes, we did this a little differently. A very small proportion of users were affected by the bug (much less than 1%) and the fix was very small. So we simply updated the download and advised those that DID encounter the bug to uninstall and re-install. If you didn't see the bug, then all is OK.
Normally, the user does have to upgrade.
Something you might want to consider, Ric, is the policy about _forcing_ the reader to update.
It is extremely annoying to come to read a book, and then be faced with an authoritarian message from Adobe: that to read, one _must_ immediately accept your update.
A little emotional intelligence might say that giving the reader freedom will win Adobe far more friends.
What do you think?
